Yair Neuman is a conceptual, lighting and eyewear designer working in the fields of art, fashion and material innovation. He explores the opportunities of sustainable design and works towards minimum environmental impact solutions. Amongst his innovations are DELEREXTM, a material made entirely from discarded lenses and registered mechanical patents for spectacles.
He studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven, Netherlands, and Ravensbourne University, London. He is currently expanding his range to include new furniture pieces as well as creating commissioned sculpture and eyewear works.
“The beauty of polymers, for me, hasn’t disappeared with the need to not use them anymore. This is why I spent over two years developing a system to turn non-virgin material into desirable pieces for the home. Together with the innovative process of creating the material and the design principles applied, craft has a major role in the making of this hand-made collection. I have made these simple pieces to my objects for living collection to make it easy for people to fall in love with DELEREXTM, and everything it represents.
